Dato’ Mohsin is the founder of Handal Resources Berhad. He holds a Teaching Diploma and started his career as a teacher before joining the Kelantan Civil Services in 1966. During his tenure as a civil servant, he had assumed several positions; as an Assistant District Officer, Assistant State Secretary and as Private Secretary to Duli Yang Maha Mulia the Sultan of Kelantan cun Comptroller of the Kelantan Royal Household. Subsequently, he was seconded to the Malaysian Civil Service and served as the Personal Secretary to the Sixth Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Dipertuan Agong.
He is the father of En Mallek Rizal Bin Mohsin, the Executive Vice Chairman of Handal Resources Berhad.
En Mallek holds a Bachelor of Management Studies Degree from the University of Waikato, New Zealand. He is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants New Zealand (ICANZ). He has extensive working experience at major corporations prior to joining Handal. His past experience includes being an Auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers (formerly known as Price Waterhouse), Assistant Manager of Corporate Finance at Amanah Merchant Bank Berhad, Corporate Services Manager for MTD ACPI Engineering Berhad (formerly known as ACP Industries Berhad), Special Assistant Corporate Finance of the President’s Office for Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad and Chief Financial Officer for Putera Capital Berhad.
He is the son of Dato’ Mohsin Abdul Halim, Non-Independent Non-Executive Chairman of Handal Resources Berhad.
Mr Sunildeep holds a Bachelor of Laws from University of Wales in Swansea, United Kingdom.
Upon returning home to Malaysia, Mr Sunildeep started his own business of palm oil and timber trading and also ventured into the construction industry as a Business Development Director.
In 2006, Mr Sunildeep, via his vehicle Borneo Helicopters Sdn Bhd, took over the management of Sabah Air Aviation Sdn Bhd which was then making losses. As the Executive Director of the company, he successfully turned it into a profitable venture after the company had suffered from having 10 years of losses; providing helicopter services to corporate clients.
In 2010, together with 3 other partners, Mr Sunildeep founded the Borneo Sea Offshore Group (“BSO Group”) providing oil & gas related services and products. In 2011, together with Kencana HL Sdn Bhd, the BSO Group secured its first major contract for the equipment, piping and steel structure for the construction of the Sabah Oil & Gas Terminal valued at RM40 million. It also built up its vessel chartering business with this division’s turnover surpassing RM100 million in 2014. Subsequently the BSO Group has grown from strength to strength with several major contract wins including an estimated RM1.0 billion maintenance, construction & modification (“MCM”) contract secured from Petronas Carigali together with Sapura Kencana. Excluding the MCM contract, the BSO Group has an existing order book exceeding RM150 million.
He currently does not sit on the board of any other public listed companies. He is currently a director of Borneo SeaOffshore Sdn Bhd, a substantial shareholder of Handal Resources Berhad and several other private companies.
Mr Joel completed his education in Marrero, Lousiana in 1981. In 1984, he founded Kennedy Services, a company engaged in the business related to synthetic materials. At the same time, he completed his courses and obtained certification in live design and Dale Carnegie’s Business Dynamics. In 1986, he sold Kennedy Services and ventured into offshore crane in the oil and gas industry. Subsequently, he joined Applied Hydraulics Systems Inc., the manufacturer of Nautilus Offshore Crane product line. In 1994, he joined Weatherford International Ltd, the manufacturer of American Aero Crane product line, leading its international operations. In 1995, he joined Handal Engineering and successfully guided the company into offshore crane manufacturing and service industry.
He has more than 30 years working experience in the offshore crane industry and a successful track record in the industry.
YAM Tengku holds a Degree in Business Administration from American University, United Kingdom.
After completing his higher education in England, YAM Tengku began his career with the Berjaya Group, a diversified conglomerate listed on Bursa Malaysia and have since been in several other listed companies including a construction company and a company supplying industrial chemicals to the oil & gas industry. He was also the Independent Non-Executive Director of Handal Resources Berhad since May 2009 until his resignation in December 2009. He is currently a director of Borneo SeaOffshore Sdn Bhd, a substantial shareholder of Handal Resources Berhad and several other private companies.
Tan Sri Munir holds a B.SC(econ) and PHD in International Relations from The London School Of Economics And Political Science (LSE). He is a Honorary Fellow of LSE, Alma Mater as Visiting Senior Fellow at the Center Of International Affairs, Diplomacy and Strategy and an Associate of Southeast Asia Center (SEAC) at LSE.
Tan Sri Munir has extensive experience and is well known in the Malaysian corporate world. He has been the Group Editor of The New Straits Times, the first Executive Chairman of CIMB and Founding Chairman of the Malaysia Securities Commission. He became an Independent Non-Executive Director of Telekom Malaysia Berhad, Chairman of CELCOM (Malaysia) Berhad and Non-Executive Chairman of Malaysian Airline System Berhad. He was Founder President of the Kuala Lumpur Business Club and is a Member of the Court of Fellows of the Malaysian Institute of Management. He is currently Chairman of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad, the Financial Services Professional Board, the Asean Business Advisory Council, Malaysia, CIMB Asean Research Institute and the President of the Asean Business Club.
Dato’ Medan has more than 30 years of well-rounded hands on experience spanning the oil and gas industry value chain, from the upstream, downstream and marketing & trading, both at national and global level.
He started his career as a Trainee legal Officer in 1982 and rose through the ranks to the top management positions in the industry.
For more than three decades, he was with Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) and had contributed tirelessly towards upholding PETRONAS’ overall profitability and growth. He was among the top personnel at PETRONAS, Malaysia’s only global Fortune 500 Corporation.
In 2013, he was appointed as the Managing Director/ President, Asia Pacific for Gazprom Marketing & Trading Pte Ltd based in Singapore until the end of 2016.
Miss Jacqueline holds a Master of Finance Degree from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia and Bachelor of Laws from University of Bristol, United Kingdom.
She has extensive working experience in Utama Merchant Bank Berhad in the Corporate Banking Department upon graduation where she was involved in corporate banking, corporate recovery & debt restructuring, and debt capital markets. Subsequently, she joined Commerce International Merchant Bankers Berhad, now known as CIMB Investment Bank Berhad. She served the bank for 14 years in Kuala Lumpur, Kuching and Jakarta where she was assigned to the Investment Banking Division and driving the origination of debt and equity capital market transactions for multilateral development agencies, government, quasi-government and private sector corporates. She left CIMB in 2015 as Director, Investment Banking.
Mr Terry holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical / Electronic Engineering from University of Wisconsin – Madison USA.
He has vast experience and track record within the Malaysian and International oil and gas industry. He is currently attached with Wood Group Mustang, a part of Wood PLC, a multinational energy services company, which is headquartered in Aberdeen, Scotland and listed on the London Stock Exchange. He is the head for project and operations management for particular projects.
He has approximately 26 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, which includes him holding various senior positions during his stints with notable industry players, namely Royal Dutch Shell and Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd. He has also been attached with Cenviro Special Builders, an integrated environmental solutions provider, heading its project management and operational excellence processes.
